THE TECHNOLOGY

Tegola Canadese produce the widest and best quality range of bituminous roof tiles on the international market: 7 models and over 200 different colours, including the superlative copper covered tiles. The advanced features of their production are the result of an exclusive production process, using fibre glass, which is extremely resiliant, together with  modified bitumen which is then sandwiched between two other layers of bitumen.

This means that the tile size is extremely stable, even in very hot weather conditions, as well as being totally waterproof.

The copper covered tiles are covered with a 70 micron layer of copper plate, which is very carefully folded over the edges. With time, the characteristic self-protecting green patina forms on the copper, a distinguishing feature of many historic buildings.

For the granule covered tiles, the upper surface is covered with minute granules of ceramic grit which protect the lower layers from the ultra-violet rays and give the tiles their characteristic colour. The granules are treated at very high temperatures and the colour pigments are tested so as to guarantee lasting colour stability.

Finally, a layer of siliceous sand which means that the tiles do not stick to each other during transport, making their handling and movement so much easier on site.

Prestige TraditionalPrestige Traditional is a bituminous tile with copper covering, made by Tegola Canadese; thedesign recalling the tradition of wooden tiled roofs, which have characteristic rounded profiles. The beauty of copper and its chromatic transformation, enhanced by the self-protective green patina which forms over time, makes every roof on which it is used even more attractive. Prestige Traditional ensures flexibility of use, since it easily adapts to a wide variety of design contexts, even roofs with curves or different degrees of slope.

MASTER - GRANULE FACED

Master is a granule faced bituminous roof tile which, due to its two layers, produces an attractive relief design, enhanced by the fret which juts out with respect to the fascia and the overlap of the tiles along the sides. The four colours available for Master mean it can be used in virtually any architectural and environmental design.

Master is produced using technology which Tegola Canadese was the first to introduce: modified bitumen, whereby the basic molecular structure of the bitumen is stabilised with the addition of polypropylene, giving a very flexible tile which is easy to work even at low temperatures.

TRADITIONAL - GRANULE FACED

PhotographTraditional is a  granule faced bituminous tile, made by Tegola Canadese, which offers all the advantages of an innovative and flexible roofing solution, even in the most complex architectural designs. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

For ease of application all Tegola shingles are manufactured in strips. Depending upon the shingle type, each strip will be made up of a number of shingles.

Tegola shingles are ideally suited to complicated roof shapes and curves. They may be adhered to the following substrates:

Plywood.

Suitably faced insulation boards.

Existing membrane roofs.

Tegola shingles may be fixed to wall or roof planes from perfectly flat to vertical. A waterproofing layer is also used where the roof pitch is below 20°.

The Tegola shingles are fixed into position through a combination of nailing and light torching. A full written fixing specification is available upon request.
