Paralon (Imper Italia) Membranes
The Paralon Series of high performance polymer modified bitumen waterproofing provides a complete range of membranes for use in key elements of modern building and civil construction projects.
Roof waterproofing is the established area of application and has been successfully used since 1981. An estimated 15 million square metres of waterproofing has been installed through the Paralon network of Authorised Roofing Contractors here in Ireland, the majority of which are covered by the Imper Italia Materials & Workmanship Warranty.
Typical Applications in Roofing
- Warm Roof and Cold Roof Systems incorporating insulation above and below the roof substrate.
- Inverted or upside roof systems incorporating insulation above the waterproofing layer
- Green roofs or terraces incorporating a combination of finishes such as “Sedum” extensive vegetation mats and grass/plant “Intensive” systems and paving, decking hard finishes for access and recreational purposes including planters and ponds
- Sloped or low pitched roofs, which require a specific colour or aesthetic finish
- Podium waterproofing

Waterproofing Cap Sheets
Paralon Ard/HS plus
An Irish Agrement Board approved, Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. ARD/HS plus has crushed slate granules on its upper surface. Thickness 4mm, with cold flexibility of –20 °C.
Paralon Ard/S plus
An Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. ARD/S plus has crushed slate granules on its upper surface. Thickness 4mm, with cold flexibility of –20 °C.
Paralon NT4
An Irish Agrement Board approved, Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. NT4 plus has a sand finished upper surface and is generally used beneath final finishes such as paving or decking. Thickness 4mm, with cold flexibility of –20 °C.
Paralon Ponts
An Irish Agrement Board approved, APP Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. Designed for the waterproofing of bridge decks, tunnels, flyovers, car parks and podium slabs. This membrane is very robust and has many civil engineering applications. Thickness 4mm, with cold flexibility of –20 °C.
Unosint Anti-Root
A Special purpose root resistant Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. This membrane is used in roof gardens, planters and other soil contact applications. Thickness 4mm, with cold flexibility of –15 °C. Tested to DIN 4062.
Copper & Aluminium Clad Membranes
These 4mm thick membranes are used for specialist applications, giving the aesthetic appeal of metal finishes at a fraction of the cost. Manufactured by embossing a thin film of copper or aluminium to the upper surface. The Copper membrane will form a rich green patina over the years.
Waterproofing Base Sheets
Paralon Top/S
An Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. This 3mm thick membrane is generally used as a base layer in the two layer Paralon waterproofing system.
Paralon Top/N
An Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven glass fibre reinforcing mat. This 3mm thick membrane is generally used as a base layer in the two layer Paralon waterproofing system.
Vapour Control Layers
Adevapor 35
A special high density vapour proof bitumen polymer membrane, this unique membrane performs two functions in one. Firstly acting as a vapour barrier it can seal and waterproof the concrete deck. Secondly, by heating the green coloured upper signal layer until it turns to black, the installing contractor may then place his Paratorch thermal insulation boards in position, where they are bonded by the cooling bitumen. This eliminates the need for mechanical fixing or separate bitumen bonding of Paratorch insulation boards, thus speeding up installation. Thickness 3.5mm, with cold flexibility of –15 °C.
Lotus 2mm
An Elasto plastomeric bitumen polymer membrane with non woven polyester fibre reinforcing mat. This membrane is used as a water vapour control layer, applied by torch to timber and concrete decks.
