Thermal Insulation Products

Moy Materials Ltd. have provided thermal insulation to the roofing and construction industry for the past 25 years. Their broad experience in the area of thermal insulation has allowed us to provide roofing and insulation system solutions to the most difficult of roof configurations. Our insulation boards may be provided flat or with a taper to direct rainwater runoff.

One of the most frequently encountered problems is in providing adequate falls  to ensure that rainwater runoff is directed to the correct rainwater outlet points. The new Mitre Board insulation system, which has been pioneered by Moy Materials Ltd., aims to significantly reduce costs by cutting down on the amount of on site wastage, eliminating the need for crickets, reducing installation time  and ensuring insulation thickness does not rise above that required for the target U Value.

When presented with a roof plan, Moy Materials Ltd. will design a Mitre Board insulation layout, take off all the required quantities and prepare a manufacturing list to suit your specific requirements. Once work on the roof has commenced a site visit will follow to ensure insulation is laid in accordance with the marked roof plan provided to the roofing contractor.

Selection of the correct type of insulation board depends upon the type of application being considered. We have 3 general categories of Thermal Insulation.

Paratherm Insulation

Paratherm Insulation is a CFC-free rigid urethane insulant with a foil layer adhesively bonded to both sides. It is suited to use with most mechanically fixed single ply waterproofing membranes.

Paratherm is available in both flat and tapered boards.

The fire performance of Paratherm is dependant upon the roofing system adopted, however, FAB is generally achieved.

Paratherm Insulation - Foil Face
Thickness 25 to 85mm Paratherm Insulation - Foil Face
Length x Width 2400 x 1200mm
Density 32 Kg/M3
Thermal Conductivity K-Value 0.02 W/mk
Compressive Strength 150 kPa
Water Vapour Resistance >100 MNs/g

Paratorch Insulation

Paratorch Insulation Paratorch Insulation is a CFC-free rigid urethane composite insulation panel with a bitumen impregnated fibreboard upper face for direct bonding of multi-layer modified-bitumen torch-applied membrane (such as Paralon) and hot bitumen bonded felts. Paratorch is also available with a plywood (rather than fibreboard) upper face. This variation creates a structural  Paratorch panel which may be fixed directly to ceiling joists, thus eliminating the need for decking in some instances.

Paratorch is available in both flat and tapered boards.

The Paratorch panel will achieve an external FAA fire rating when installed under most built up systems.

Paratorch Insulation - Fibreboard Face
Thickness 25 to 85mm Paratorch Insulation - Fibreboard Face
Length x Width 2400 x 1200mm
Density 32 Kg/M3
Thermal Conductivity K-Value 0.023 W/mk
Compressive Strength 150 kPa

Profiled Insulation

Profiled InsulationRefurbishment of existing Corrugated Asbestos or Corrugated Steel roofs can be made very straight forward when the correct insulation board is made available.

Moy Materials Ltd. supply profiled composite urethane insulation boards with a bitumen impregnated fibreboard layer to the outer face. The boards can be produced to match commonly used profiles such as "Big 6" or "Super 4" Asbestos sheeting, or any of the vast number of steel sheeting profiles.
