APAO Pheonix Super by General Membrane
PHOENIX SUPER is a prefabricated elastoplastomeric-terpolymeric waterproofing membrane, with a compound of distilled bitumen and ethylene-propylene-butene polymers which give the product excellent properties and is reinforced with an rot-proof woven non-woven spunbond polyester stabilized with fibreglass.
The excellent quality of the compound gives an exceptional cold flexibility, high resistance to UV rays and longevity and the high quality of the reinforcement avoids shrinkage even in the presence of extreme thermal stress. The mineral finishing, available in different colours, gives a better protection to the PHOENIX SUPER slowing down the ageing process and increasing the life of the system. PHOENIX SUPER is certified in Italy with Technical Agrement I.T.C. 610/03.
Compound APAO
The compound of the PHOENIX SUPER membranes consists of distilled bitumen modified with amorphous poly-alpha olefins (APAO) and selected stabilized fillers. This particular thermoplastic rubber made up of an Ethylene ter-polymer, Propylene, and 1-Butene, which has a special compatibility with bitumen; three properties characterise this compound: resistance to thermal ageing, cold flexibility and heat stability.
This compound is extraordinarily resistant to thermal ageing, which lengthens the working life of the membrane. Membranes with high resistance to thermal ageing and excellent dimensional heat stability can be applied in any climatic zone and are especially suited to heavily insulated roofing. The excellent cold flexibility makes the membrane easy to apply even in cold climates.
Because of its specific formulation, this compound is also highly resistant to the ageing effects of UV radiation and doesn’t footprint easily during application, two essential characteristics for ‘exposed’ roofing where the finished appearance must be impeccable.

Reinforcement - Woven non-woven spunbond polyester stabilized with fibreglass (FC)
PHOENIX SUPER membranes are reinforced with a rot-proof woven non-woven spunbond polyester stabilized with fibreglass. This reinforcement is called “combined” because in addition to the excellent mechanical characteristics of the polyester like tensile strength, elongation and tear resistance you can consider the exceptional heat stability of the fibreglass. This makes PHOENIX SUPER a very high performance membrane which avoids shrinkage even in the presence of extreme thermal stress. Its heavy duty reinforcement with such strong mechanical characteristics - tensile strength, elongation at break and tear resistance - helps it to absorb the severe stresses due to structural movement, resist foot traffic, the placing of static weights and it permits to be fixed mechanically in zones exposed to high winds for the waterproofing of flat roof with heavy protection, garden roof and basins.

Surfacing
* UV resistance
Since the PHOENIX SUPER compound is virtually unaffected by UV radiation, the membrane can in fact be left without further protection. However the system is also available with the membrane’s upper surface coated with slate flakes that low the membrane’s temperature when exposed to intense sunlight, which in turn all have the effect of slowing down the ageing process, increasing the life of the system.

Even though we have taken the maximum care during the printing process, the colours in the photographs are of course only indicative, and may appear slightly different from the actual mineral surfacing of the membranes.
